THE DREAM WAS BIGGER THAN THE KITCHEN.
Problem Baker began in our California kitchen, with three little babies running around, my love of baking, and his love of cookies. We didn’t know it yet, but somewhere in that beautiful chaos, our dream was taking shape.
01 · CALIFORNIA / THE BEGINNING
I NEVER PLANNED ON SELLING COOKIES.
I’ve always loved to bake. For me, it was never about selling anything. I loved making something for someone and watching their face light up after the first bite. That feeling was enough. Truthfully, I had a hard time accepting money for something I loved making so much.
My husband has always been a serious cookie lover, so naturally, he became my number-one taste tester. He was always asking what I was making next, trying every batch, and encouraging me to keep going. Friends and family did the same, constantly telling me, “You need to sell these.”
Cookies weren’t even the plan. They were simply the thing that stayed—the thing people remembered, came back for, and wanted more of.
02 · CALIFORNIA TO NEW YORK
THE DREAM CROSSED THE COUNTRY.
What started in our California kitchen eventually made its way across the country to New York. A home kitchen became a bakery. A passion became a brand. And a small family dream became something we are still building together.
Staten Island gave that dream its first address. Coffee became the natural next chapter—not just something to serve with a cookie, but a reason for people to stay, meet, catch up, and make Problem Baker part of their routine.
Through every move, every late night, every risk, and every new chapter, the reason I bake has never changed: to make something people genuinely love.
03 · THE NAME + THE CRAFT
HE’S THE PROBLEM. I’M THE BAKER.
Every flavor is carefully thought through—from the recipe and texture to the ingredients and balance of sweetness. Nothing makes it into the box until it feels right. That same care still goes into everything we create today, and I’m still the recipe developer behind it all.
Somewhere between his love for cookies and my love for baking, Problem Baker was born.
Because every baker needs a little problem.
Problem Baker is more than a cookie company to us. It is our family’s story, our dream, and our way of creating the feeling that started it all—the smile after the first bite.
